3. Legal basis for processing

Quote and general enquiries. We normally process information submitted through the Get a Quote form, by email or by telephone because it is necessary to respond to your request and, where applicable, to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Join LGK applications. We process information submitted through the Join LGK application form so that we can review and respond to your application. Where applicable, this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an employment or working arrangement. We may also rely on our legitimate interests in assessing and managing applications and on legal obligations where relevant.

Legitimate interests. Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests may include:

  • Responding to and managing enquiries.
  • Assessing and administering applications.
  • Maintaining appropriate business records.
  • Protecting the website and business against misuse.

Consent. We will rely on consent only where we specifically ask for it for an optional purpose, such as marketing or additional tracking technologies. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Submitting an enquiry or application is not treated as consent.

4. Data storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access. Form submissions are delivered to LGK Construction through a server-side email delivery service and are only accessed when necessary for business purposes.

5. How long we keep your data

7. How to make a data protection complaint

If you have concerns about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us at info@lgkconstructionltd.co.uk and mark your message “Data Protection Complaint”. If you make a data protection complaint, we will acknowledge receipt within 30 days. We will take appropriate steps to investigate the issues raised, including making enquiries proportionate to the circumstances. We will keep you informed of the progress of our investigation and any expected timescales where appropriate, and we will tell you the outcome without undue delay.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection. We would welcome the opportunity to address your concern first, but this does not affect your right to contact the ICO.

Visit the official ICO complaint page or call the ICO helpline on 0303 123 1113.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand visitor numbers, page views and traffic sources. It provides aggregate statistics such as pages visited, referring websites, approximate location, browser and device type. It does not use analytics cookies or track visitors across different websites. We do not send enquiry or application form contents as analytics events. Read more about Vercel Web Analytics and privacy.

Where enabled, Google Analytics 4 loads only after you choose Accept analytics. It measures page visits and confirmed quote enquiries using a non-personal form label. We do not send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, addresses, project descriptions or other form contents to Google Analytics. We omit URL query strings and fragments, except validated Google ad-click identifiers when you separately accept advertising measurement. Google also receives technical information such as your IP address and browser information when your browser connects to its service.

Accepting analytics does not grant consent for advertising cookies, advertising user data or personalised advertising. You can separately choose Measure enquiries from Google adverts. This optional choice allows Google to use measurement cookies and ad-click information to attribute enquiries to our Google adverts. It is off by default, including for visitors who previously accepted analytics only. Google signals and advertising personalisation remain disabled with either choice. We do not send customer details for enhanced conversions.

You can reject analytics and still use the website and submit an enquiry. Use Cookie preferences to change your choices. Uncheck advertising measurement and accept analytics to withdraw advertising permission while retaining analytics; this removes accessible Google advertising-measurement cookies. Reject analytics to stop both types of measurement and remove accessible Google Analytics and advertising-measurement cookies. Withdrawal does not remove information already received by Google. Read the Google privacy policy.

We remember your analytics and advertising-measurement choices in this browser for 180 days using local storage (lgk-analytics-consent-v1). If accepted, Google may set _ga and _ga_* cookies, configured to expire after 180 days and renewed during use. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice lasts for this page only. If advertising measurement is accepted, Google may also use _gcl_* or _gac_* cookies to associate an ad click with an enquiry. These commonly last up to 90 days; Google controls their exact lifetimes. A necessary, short-lived lgk_quote_received cookie lets a successful quote submission reach its confirmation page once; it expires within two minutes and contains no enquiry details. Other strictly necessary storage may be used for security and essential website functionality.

The Reviews page may load an official Checkatrade Review Score Widget when the widget is enabled on the published website. The widget displays current Checkatrade rating and review-count information. When the widget loads, your browser connects directly to Checkatrade to retrieve and display that information. Checkatrade states that the widget does not track visitor data and makes only basic API performance calls. As with any direct third-party request, Checkatrade receives ordinary network information, which may include an IP address, browser headers and referrer information, and its response may use cookies or similar technologies depending on Checkatrade's service and your browser settings. Checkatrade controls this external service and its operation may change. Read the current Checkatrade privacy notice and cookie notice for more information.

The direct Checkatrade profile link remains available if the widget cannot be loaded.

If additional analytics, advertising tools or other non-essential technologies are introduced, this notice will be updated and consent will be requested before those technologies are used where required.
